URGENT MESSAGE FOR FANFIC WRITERS

Bonanza Boomers has asked us to post this information for any fanfic writers who have stories posted on Boomers website:

 

We are deleting our Library on our site because the library site for

e-fiction has almost abandoned their software.  They haven't updated in

almost 4 years and it's no longer compatible or safe to be on our site. 

 

So we have moved the library off to a private server temporarily in

order for members to retrieve their stories. If they have stories here

that are not posted on Brand or not saved by them,

they can jump on Boomers and request access to get their stories.  We

will then send them instructions on how to retrieve it.

 

If they have them saved and there's no need for them to come here, a

list of those names will be helpful.  We can delete their stories

ourselves.  The more stories we delete, the easier it is for us to see

what's left.  This is a mess, but we will get through it.

Bottom line:

 

If you have any stories that are not already saved to your computer or posted elsewhere (Brand, WWB, etc.), please access the above link to receive instructions on how to retrieve them.  

 

If you already have them saved, please send Boomers a list so they can be deleted to help lighten the load on their temporary server.

I just found your question.  Brand's library is hosted via WordPress and we routinely install the updates within days of receiving notifications.  It is a modern and robust service.  As for your question, it is possible for any software to reach an end-0f-life and need to replaced with new platforms or technologies.  But we do not see this happening here for a long time to come.

 

Remember, Brand migrated the Library to Word Press back in 2014 due to a similar situation with the software used reaching its end of life.
