2025 Lunar New Year Activities--Year of the Snake + Lorne Greene's Birthday Chat

In honor of Hop Sing's heritage, Bonanza Brand celebrates the Lunar New Year.  To celebrate 2025's Year of the Snake, we will be featuring "The Rattlesnake Brigade" (Season 13, Episode 11) from January 29 through February 12 in the Bonanza Discussion Boards>Episode Discussions.

 

In addition, beginning January 29 you can:

 

• Share your favorite Chinese recipe in Clementine Hawkins' Home Economic Class
   
• Share your original work in Matthew Raines' Arts, Crafts and Hobbies Class
   
• Write a scene, story (e.g., WHB, WHN, WHIB), or poem based on "The Rattlesnake Brigade" and post in Library if over 500 words or in the VCLS Reading Room if under 500 words). Alternatively, you can write a story of any length where a snake (any kind of snake alive or dead, real or fake) is a prominent element.
   
• Make a jigsaw puzzle using a screencap from "The Rattlesnake Brigade" [or any episode that has a snake in it] and post in the Casino.

 

Badges awarded for each type of contribution.

 

Also, on February 12 we will have a Snake Chat in our Slack Channel.  Since that day is also Lorne Greene's birthday, we will combine the two chats and discuss the relationship between Ben and Hop Sing.

 

This Channel will be open an extended period of time to accommodate all time zones.  Invitations to join Slack [bonanzabrand.slack.com] will be sent to those who request access.  Watch the Announcement Banner for a link to the Chat announcement.
