If that's so, then I'm not entirely sure how these Olympics work.

Which one do you like more:

Winter  or Summer  Olympics?

I like winter better but enjoy both. 

 

I'm not following the Olympics this year, so how was the beginning so rocky? 

 

With many recent Olympics the thinks I wanted to see were during weird hours and the evening 'highlights' didn't cover enough of the competitions. All usually due to the time differences.

I like winter better too, but there are summer events that I like watching like Rock climbing.

@AC1830 and @SydneyFateThe opening is on Friday,but there are events that take place before-soccer being one.

Morocco and Argentina-Stadium cleared because the fans bad behaviour.

This one is embrassing-Soccer coaches(Canadian) sending over spy drones on the other team.REALLY?

Dujardins- Dressage- for animal abuse four years ago.

There is more.

I always enjoy the opening and closing ceremonies ,but I think I may pass on the opening one this year.I like seeing them walk into the stadium. This time they will be in boats on the river.Instead I will just watch  it on the news.

There are events in both.

Summer-Fencing,Judo,Jumping,dressage,Musical ride,Swimming,Running.

Winter-Skiing, Curling, Biathlon Individual skating.

You've picked some great sports. I also like the ice skating and the skiing, and ski jumping.

Arson attacks on railways prior to opening.

 

It rained during opening but didn't seem to bother the athletes, performers, or spectators. 

 

If you've seen "I am: Celine Dion" on Prime--the documentary about her battle with Stiff Person Syndrome--or read about her struggles (she hasn't performed publicly in four years), her performance at the Eiffel Tower at the end was absolutely breathtaking. I wept watching her face as she looked out over Paris.

I think it's pretty amazing that the US won a bronze metal in women's rugby!!
