Okay, let me first qualify this post by reminding everyone that I am an Adam fan, but here is something that has bothered me for a while. I know some people really like The Way Station, but that episode gets on my nerves. I love Adam in the beginning, but I find his scenes with Marty unconvincing and lacking warmth. Contrast that with the way he interacts with Peggy Dayton. Granted, Peggy is only seven, but their scenes seem very natural and real, and it's like watching two people you might know. In TWS, I see an actor playing a part. It feels forced. With Peggy, I can believe that he genuinely cares for this little girl and it's not hard to imagine that he would eve…

I’ve been binging Bonanza all day and I have an episode in my mind I can’t locate. The part I remember is that Adam gets his pretty bad over the head by the villains and thrown in jail. There’s a scene where his family comes to get him and has to drag him out because he’s still kind of out of it. Then, during the final shootout, the Cartwrights are holed up in some house or barn, tending to Adam’s wound while trying to make the villains see some sense. Or something along those lines. I know this episode exists and I know it’s probably not in season one or two because they’re all wearing their normal outfits. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sometimes, Bonanza episodes are loosely based on classic stories. I know of four so far: Gabrielle (Heidi), The Spanish Grant (a very loose Anastasia), Woman of Fire (obviously the Taming of the Shrew), and the Mountain Girl (My Fair Lady). Does anyone know of any other episodes like these? Ones loosely based on well-known stories?

Most everyone knows about Valentine's Day, celebrated on February 14th. But were you aware of Lover's Day? Over the years the Cartwrights had many love interests, more than the Many Loves of Dobie Gillis. Here's your chance to capture and share with your fellow Brand members your favorite scenes displaying the various love interests for the Cartwrights. Note: Remember to include the episode title with your posting. Elizabeth, My Love

A bit of foolish fun for April Fool's Day. Pick a scene from any Bonanza episode and replace the dialog with a fitting movie quote. Examples below: Episode: A Rose for Lotta (Season 1) Adam: (to Langford Poole in saloon) "You've gotta ask yourself one question. 'Do I feel lucky?' Well, do ya, punk?" (Dirty Harry) Episode: The Pressure Game (Season 5) Ben: (to Adam when he hears he plans to marry Laura Dayton) Surely you can't be serious." Adam: "I am serious, and don't call me Shirley. (Airplane) Ben: (shaking him): "Snap out of it!" (Moonstruck)

I was watching Star Trek -The wink of an eye,Hey I know that actress.Katie Browne was born Jacqueline Sue Browne,Sept 19,1930 in the sunny state of California. One of her most famous role was the bride to be to Adam Cartwright during the 1963 series. She was also on there twice before. She was cast as the pretty widow Laura Dayton, was suppose to marry Adam and ride off into the sunset, but Pernell was not happy with the series so NBC hired Guy Williams to replace him(little they know ,no-one can replace Pernell, just saying, anyhow on with the news)Pernell stayed another year.So Laura rode off with Will, Adam's cousin into the Twilight zone.As mentioned ,she was on twice before…

Hi! I figured I would put this out there for anyone who might find it interesting. I write a blog about Bonanza called Saga of the Ponderosa and I just uploaded a new post about the episode It's A Small World. I basically just give a brief overview of the episode and what I thought of it. I don't know if any of you would be interested but if you are here's the link: https://sagaoftheponderosa.com/?p=643 Thanks! -@millieshepherd

We received an inquiry about an episode: "Could you please tell me the name of the Bonanza episode where Little Joe says of Hoss: 'I have seen those hands cradle a baby bird and have seen those hands bend a horse shoe.' Any one know?

I love those moments when there's some real deep understanding between the brothers. Here's a favorite from "The Hanging Posse" when Joe awakens Adam for some advice. Adam is bone tired and tells him to go away, but then realizes his brother has a moral question and takes the time to help him sort it out. The Hanging Posse What are some of your favorite brotherly moments. Post a screencap or two if you'd like.

This is driving me crazy trying to remember this. There was an episode of Bonanza where, as the episode was ending, it showed a picture of (or referenced) a home that was built by two of the non-regular characters in that episode. T There was a subtitle stating that this home could still be seen on some highway and it gave the location of the highway. Given that they added a special subtitle and gave the location, I always wondered if that was a real place they were referencing and tying to the fictional episode. (I think the road mentioned possibly a road to Las Vegas or Tahoe or maybe between the two). Supposedly two of t…

Sometimes it gets confusing trying to remember if something really happened in an episode or was it in fan fiction. I've noticed Hop Sing referring to Little Joe as "my Little Joe" in several stories I have read. Did Hop Sing refer to him that way in an actual episode? If so, which one?

Hole in pants alert! Ben's seam seems to have burst open a wee little bit. Sorry I couldn't get a clear picture. I don't have the DVD. Had to capture this on YouTube.

When Ben is shot, Joe and Hoss run out to see what happened. They decide to carry Ben into the house. Does anybody know if that was Lorne Greene they were carrying? Dan seems a little rough when he tries to get a second grip under Lorne's armpits. There's a cut the first time they lift him. I'm wondering if it was to use Lorne's stunt double or the had to do the scene over. If it was Lorne Greene they were carrying, I can only imagine the laughter that went on once the scene was finished. I had to laugh because it looks like Dan nearly drops him.
