Ok. Here's the question about this scene. Did Pernell, Dan, and Mike conspire to sit like this, without telling anyone they were going to do it? Or was it in the script that they do this? It would be just like one, two, or all three to do it on their own. I've seen clips from outtakes, from other TV shows and movies, where the bloopers and mistakes flowed with the scene, that they were left in.

In Riot, we meet Griff when Ben is inspecting the prison and there's a riot of prisoners due to poor living conditions and even poorer food. In my research about prisons in Nevada, I found these pieces of history that could loosely match what happened in Riot. Early Wardens: John Crossman served as the first warden in 1865. The position was later tied to the Lieutenant Governor's office, with the governor, secretary of state, and attorney general forming the board of prison commissioners. …

Is this why only one son was finally able to marry? In case you're wondering which group is singing, it's the Irish Rovers. They're the ones who recorded The Unicorn. https://youtu.be/IGRR0tmDXLM?si=HO1t2fVDWG97YVBN

Currently watching Return Engagement on MeTV. Where Lotta returns to Virginia City. It seems strange that Lotta knew Ben and that he had to introduce her to his sons, especially to Joe. Did all of them, Lorne, Dan, Mike, and everyone else, forget about the pilot episode A Rose For Lotta?

The theme of the episode The Love Child, S12 E9, was also used in Highway To Heaven episode Child Of God, S1 E18. We know that Mike copied the theme of some of Bonanza's episodes for Little House On The Prairie. I didn't know that he used one of Bonanza's episodes for a Highway To Heaven episode.

Anyone else get the feeling that Adam pulled a fast one on his gullible brothers? That he sent a fake gem to Ben, knowing what might happen to it if Hoss and Joe got hold of it, and kept the real one in his possession? It's that smirk of Adam's that makes you wonder.

This clip, as to why Bonanza was cancelled, is, as we all know, a lie. We all know the real reason why Bonanza couldn't continue. https://m.youtube.com/shorts/ABKSRjlh8h8

Just watched this one last night, and I'm left with a question I want to throw out to the group - do we think Joe was into Lucy at all or not? He's usually not subtle about this sort of thing but I'm genuinely unsure how to read this episode. He notices she's pretty and he competes with Tuck for time...but that may just be him messing with Tuck. He's definitely exasperated by her in most of their interactions, and he seems genuinely shocked by the idea at the end that he might be in love with her. But would you say there was at least a flirtation there, or nothing at all? This is the only time I can think of that I haven't quite been able to read Joe's intentions! …

As I'm watching, I note that Hoss absolutely has his own musical theme. Even Jamie does. But I can't say that I've recognized a specific musical motif for Adam or Joe... or even one for Ben, except for him I'll often hear a variation on the basic "Bonanza" theme song. Am I nuts? Have I missed something someone else has caught?

Plot: There's trouble on many fronts when Ben's prim and proper English friend, an avid hunter and world traveler, arrives on the Ponderosa with his wife. First Aired: March 26, 1960 Director: Lewis Allen Written by: David Dortort (creator), Bill S. Ballinger You've watched the episode. Now it's your chance to sit in the director's chair, or better yet, sit at the editor's desk for the entertainment section of your local paper. What review would you give to the people who read your paper? What would you have changed, if anything? What are your feelings for this episode? Do you have any behind the scene tidbits to share? What were …

Oh My Gosh, it's hilarious! It felt like there was a lot more focus on facial expression than the previous. The bit where Abigail Jones comes out to see who's singing and Hoss and Joe turn heel- They fled so fast! the swiftness of it has me hysteric! Love love loved hearing the vibrato in Adam's voice too, he's got such a pretty one. Oh and I thought their all their faces moved especially good. I'll be the first to admit that sounds a tad insane but I just adore the way Hoss's face contorts and shifts. It's the best thing in the world to me, I've no clue as to why it's so pleasing neither.

I think someone recently asked if there was an episode when all the Cartwrights were in jail at the same time. I’m not sure if anyone posted an answer. I just watched “The Gamble” that is the answer. Here’s a picture from the Gallery.

I like to watch clips from various TV shows and movies on YouTube, they call them shorts. I just watched this one from Bonanza and can't remember which episode it is. Anyone know which one it is? It's before Pernell left. https://m.youtube.com/shorts/rlLWhHReY6E

Calling on the Hive Mind, here, as I feel like I'm losing my my own... Isn't there a Season 1 or 2 (at the latest, as Joe is supposed to be very young) episode that ends with some kind of Miner's Dance or Ball and Joe brings an Indian Princess along, causing Pa and big brothers to have to step in to keep his curls in place??

Although I don’t have the answer to the question asked by @Broken Flower if all 3 brothers were ever in jail at the same time, her question did spark a couple of related questions. In seasons 1 thru 6 which Cartwright brother was in jail the most often and which Cartwright brother was in jail the least often? Some episodes that readily come to mind for Adam: A Dime’s Worth of Glory The Sisters The Knight To Remember The Lawmaker

I know that it's the way he's sitting, but Joe's legs look out of proportion to the rest of his body. And the way the left pant is, it looks as though the section of leg, just above his boot, is missing. Funny how you don't notice these things when you're watching one of your favorite episodes. I’d appreciate recommendations of episodes to watch after Pernell Roberts left Bonanza. For me Adam was such an important part of Bonanza the show wasn’t the same when he was no longer part of the cast. I’ve watched a couple of episodes after season 6 but was disappointed. Maybe I just didn’t pick good ones. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I really like The Hunter a lot as an episode, but admittedly I love any media that reuses the Most Dangerous Game story line. The one thing I find myself annoyed with while watching it is the constant commentary over-layed atop a scene very obviously pointing out exactly what the characters are doing/thinking. I might be biased, but I really like tv shows and movies that utilize a lot of silence and facial expressions and body language to inform the audience of a character's thoughts. Was The Hunter's utilization of silent commentary a product of the times, ie did other shows/movies do the same thing, or was it a cop-out on Mike Landon's part thinking the audience wouldn'…
