I thought I had posted this last night, but I'm unable to find it. Probably due to operator error, me forgetting to click the submit button more than likely. So I'm reposting this. The theme for this week is one that I call Alternate Universe. Some of the actors who guest starred on Bonanza over the years also worked with Lorne Greene on other TV or movie projects. Case in point: Vera Miles, who guest starred in two Bonanza episodes and worked with Lorne Greene in Autumn Leaves (1956), which starred Joan Crawford. The characters they played were, well let's just say they weren't the nicest of people, but both turned in creditable …

The theme for this week is one that I call Alternate Universe. Some of the actors who guest starred on Bonanza over the years also worked with Lorne Greene on other TV or movie projects. Case in point: Vera Miles. Before appearing as a guest star on Bonanza, she worked with Lorne Greene in a movie called Autumn Leaves (1956), which starred Joan Crawford. The characters they played were, shall we say, less savory than the ones they played on Bonanza, but they turned in creditable performances. A real tribute to their acting abilities. In honor of Brand's 11th Anniversary, Michele and I plan to post two jigsaw puzzles per week in Ben's Boardroom and Lorne's Lodge. Themes will include: uses of steel in Bonanza's time and during Lorne Greene's lifetime; a play on the words steel and steal, as in getting a good deal on something being equated to getting a steal; turquoise, and citrine. Michele and I would like to award participation badges for each forum, and a special badge for the participant who averages the fastest time in the Boardroom and in the Lodge. If there's a tie, both participants will be awarded the special badge. Rules are: 1) The cut and number of pieces can't be changed. 2) T…

Michele and I will be taking a hiatus from October 1 - 7. I will return on October 8 with more PODs of the man who's best known for bringing our favorite Cartwright into our living rooms since September 1959. Michele will return when she's ready to do so. Since I forgot to set a deadline date for the puzzle contests Michele and I have been running throughout September in honor of Bonanza Brand's 11th Anniversary, I'm going to keep the contest open another week to give everyone the option of putting together puzzles you've missed and allow anyone who has not participated yet to join in. The winners of the contests here and in the Board…

Today marks 30 years since the death of Lorne Greene. It's also the 16th anniversary of the devastating attack on the United States. To commemorate these events, here is a puzzle that links both events. Lorne is shown here campaigning for Hubert Humphrey in 1972. I'd like to think it's patriotic in that Lorne was exercising his right of free speech during a presidential election year.

Gone fishing. Michele and pkmoonshine are taking a bit of R & R for the week of August 20. They will be back posting here and in the Boardroom the week of August 27. In the meantime, please feel free to post some of your favorite pictures of Lorne Greene. Michele and pkmoonshine would enjoy seeing them.

Sometimes it's difficult to come up with a theme, especially because PKMoonshine and I like to have the same theme in Ben's Boardroom and in Lorne's Lodge. That's why "This and That" works right now. August 9th was Book Lover's Day. I think this picture will work. Image by MBE

This week's theme was proposed by Kathy, aka PKMoonshine. We're going to feature wet and/or dry scenes, up to your interpretation. Something wet in the glasses on the table. Image by MBE

The past couple of days feel like the good ol' Summertime's decided to put in an appearance 'way early. The high yesterday at Reagan National was 91 degrees. To mark the occasion, the theme this week is Weathering the Weather: Sweating and Cooling Off. To begin ... there's nothing quite like a cool drink of water on a very hot day. Image posted by Michele
