So obviously Landon never actually played Adam - but much like how he seems to be "playing" Hoss in some scenes of Forever, there are times after Roberts' departure when it feels like Joe is very much channeling oldest brother. I'm watching through Season 8 right now, and I hit a string of episodes that got me thinking about this. Black Friday and, two episodes later, Journey to Terror, both feel like they would have been Adam episodes if Pernell Roberts was still with the show, especially Black Friday. The details differ, but the basic concept in both is that Joe arrives in a strange town, tries to help an old friend, and ends up in the midst of a fraught s…

Joe's in a pickle... Before he can go to town to celebrate his birthday, he's got to find everything on Pa's list of missing items in the barn loft. Trouble is, Pa drank too much of Giorgio Rossi's wine and the list is all scrambled. Can you help him figure out what he's looking for? Find the words below in the box above. They may be written forwards, backwards, upside down or vertical. saddle pad curry comb feed pitchfork block and tackle barn cat bridle forge bit saddle rope halter wagon wheel harness body brush lumber hay grain straw…

Every so often I get to wondering what Joe's body would look like, if he was able to keep the scars. All of the beatings, gunshot wounds, arrow wounds, stabbings, whippings, etc that he got from the TV episodes and the stories we read in the the library. If I had the skills to do it, I would try to draw him with all of those scars. But, unfortunately, I don't. Anyone up to trying to draw a scarred up Little Joe Cartwright?

Okay. Every once in a while, hubby brings this up. Did Joe ever have a Southern or French accent when Bonanza first started? Hubby says he did and the accent eventually went away. I tell him that Joe never had any kind of an accent. But, now, every time I watch A Rose For Lotta, I think I detect a slight southern accent when him and Adam are talking before they fight and a little bit of a southern accent after the fight.
