Monday, May 18 Hoss uses gestures to enhance his explanation of the mules arriving without the poles (and him). When Hoss gets distracted and causes a mishap, tempers flare and fists fly. Despite an intermission with the mules, things don't cool down until everyone gets a mud bath (and Ben's guest is injured).

Monday, May 11 Hoss' head, and his brothers', pop up like meerkats when Ben comes in looking worse for wear. Hoss tries his hand at sussing out the reason for the injuries. "Did you bump into a limb or something, Pa?" Suddenly needing to tell Ben to slow down is less theory and more reality. Hoss takes the lead with his brothers contributing uneasy smiles.

Monday, May 4 Once again, Hoss has a friend that is... shall we say... needy. Helpless even. Our big hearted Cartwright steps in to help those who cannot (or will not?) help themselves. With a baby on the way (and a colt expected, too) and taxes due, Hoss tries to help Jock find a job. No work at the saloon where Jock is tossed out... Or at the barber's, where Hoss puts himself on the line, quite literally.

Monday, April 27 Hoss reluctantly turns the reins over to Susan to take her and her father to see a stand of timber. Hoss drowns in guilt, taking the blame when Susan is paralyzed and her father is killed on the drive (Ben offers the patented "Son, you've got to let it go," look and speech).

Monday, April 20 Hoss rides in fast, and bursts into the house. "Hot dog! I could smell them biscuits a mile down the road!" He brings back a letter for Ben from an old friend, introducing two "trustworthy" people who will need a place to stay. Hoss soon spots some irregularities going on in the business of these "trustworthy" people.

Monday, April 13 Hoss & his brothers report to Roy that Ben has likely been shot and killed, before going after the men. After learning the 3 suspects each headed in a different direction, the boys split up.

Sunday, April 5 Hoss is confused by the order for one, kind-faced milk cow among the large stock orders until he learns of the new orphange. Naturally, our big-hearted Hoss is happy to escort Sarah the Cow to the "old" spinster and her orphans.

Monday, March 30 Hoss clearly doesn't expect a smooch from Amanda in Ponderosa Birdman

Monday, March 23 Hoss goes looking for a stallion with Lafe Jessup Hoss intervenes when Jessup proves violent towards a different stallion. Jessup goes after Hoss with the whip and a fight breaks out.

Monday, March 16 Hoss has his palm read by Madame Adella, who reveals that a tall, golden haired woman will fall in love him. Surprise! Tall, golden-haired Kathleen is mighty eager for our favorite gentle giant to court her.

Monday, March 9 Despite Hoss's best efforts (duded up and everything!) Cameo's interest (stupidly) lies elsewhere in The Rival. But Hoss wins Delores's affections after bravely battling the bull, undercutting his brothers efforts to woo her in Ponderosa Matador.

Monday, January 19 Hoss assures Joe he knows how to handle those senoritas in California while putting on a money belt with $15k. Out of the gate, Hoss & Joe encounter bushwackers. They continue on to Don Xavier's where Joe keeps introducing Hoss as "senor horse." Hoss disapproves.

Monday, January 12 Hoss just wants to wet his whistle and gets into a bind with a Frenchman. After a dump in the trough, the Frenchman challenges Hoss to a duel, which he finds hilarious. The choice of weapon makes Joe uneasy.

Monday, Dec. 29 Hoss is mighty happy to escort Miss Annie to her claim (and assist in burying Himself). He's equally happy with the offer of some mulligan, and charmed by Annie herself (Adam less so).

Monday, Dec. 22 Hoss & Joe come upon a terrible acciddent that kills 2 people but leaves their daughter alive. They bring her back to the Ponderosa. Gabrielle, proves that she is quite capable even though she is blind. She cannot see Hoss, but knows he is the one that brought her there. Hoss is surprised and pleased to find that Gabrielle "knows" (and trusts) him.

Monday, Dec. 15 Hoss receives a letter from Big Jim Leyton, asking Hoss to be his best man. Jim surprises Hoss at his camp (with some pranks) and the two share a good laugh.
