In an effort to prevent those not old enough from gaining access to the Mature/R-Rated stories in the Library, we have added a plugin that will require the reader to input their birthday before reading such stories. The good news is that the reader will only need to enter this information the first time they attempt to read any Mature/R-Rated story on each device used and the Library will remember this status for one year. Members may curate their own personal library by using the Bookmark feature. My Bookmarks is a great way for a reader to identify a favorite story they may wish to reread sometime in the future. Just click the Bookmark located within the summary on the home page or at the end of a story. For Readers to access their own personal listing, click My Bookmarks in the line below the Library Banner.

I love prequel fan fiction because it focuses on the core characters/family. I love the idea of incorporating Ben's wives, especially Marie, into stories. I just don't like stories that focus on a non-canon character.

We are posting this for all our members to read; not just our authors, though some of them were the ones affected. It wasn't until recently that the Brandsters became aware that authors in the Library could view ALL pending comments, not just the ones left for their stories. The 2025 Advent Calendar stories have been uploaded into the Library for publication on December 24th, beginning at 9:00 pm EST. As we have in years past, we respectfully request that authors refrain from posting any non-Christmas stories in the Library until January 1, 2026. If an author posts a non-Christmas story, the Brandsters will return the story to draft and schedule it for posting beginning January 1, 2026. This message was posted today in the Library, but we felt we should also post in the Forums. Early in July 2025, the Brand Library was temporarily off-line due to a critical error encountered after updating a necessary software application. The software in question is used to prevent registration attacks by 'spam bots'. It was disabled, so we could get the Brand Library back online. As of 8/1/2025, an updated version of reCaptcha was reinstalled and all new registrations will go through the process. Only because I'm having so much fun writing for the prompts already coming in (and loving reading everyone else's work, too!) I began to wonder if it might be possible to consider monthly or quarterly "up to 500-word" story writing prompts for: song titles/lyrics? famous lines from books or movies? Jus' wonderin'.... :-)

My Bookmarks has been a feature in the Bonanza Brand Library for a number of years. For new members, it allows readers to curate a private library of their favorite Bonanza stories. To add a story, click the "Bookmark" link located at the end of the story. The number at the end indicates how many readers have marked the story. As of May 7, 2025, the stories are now sorted alphabetically under "My Bookmarks" and will display up to 100 story links per page; allowing an easier way for readers to quickly locate a story that is begging them to reread.

The Brandsters recently received an e:mail from Pat Thompson-Dumas. After years of not writing and numerous computer crashes, she is looking for any of her stories that readers may have downloaded or received over the years. In Progress! Long-time Bonanza fanfiction readers have seen many websites come and go. As old sites falter and new sites appear, not all authors have the time nor the inclination to upload their stories to a new home; many having left the fandom or writing all together. The ranks of fanfiction writers have also experienced the passing of a number of early-era authors. This leaves these stories lost to future readers. In talking with administrators in other fanfiction fandoms, we have come to realize that as we are growing older, someone has to take the responsibility to preserve these older stories. For those who use WayBackMachine, the internet archive to find, early era fanfiction stories from fandoms that are no longer active, please note that the site is currently off-line due to being hacked on Tuesday, October 8th. Internet History Hacked, Wayback Machine Down—31 Million Passwords Stolen (forbes.com) Not sure what/how the passwords stolen affect any user or site that was saved to the archive. But wanted to let readers know why the site is down.

This is directed to authors in the Brand Library since the Bonanza Brand 2023 Advent Calendar is nearing its grand revealing. March 30, 2023 -- After receiving notice that the recent update to Dark Mode could cause a fatal error in the Library, the Brandsters have deactivated the feature until the developer issues a correction or a different Dark Mode program can be located.

We found a new plug-in for Random posts in the Library. It provides a different listing each time the page is refreshed.

We have added a translation plug-in to the Library. Here are the languages supported: Let us know which additional languages should be selected.

In playing around in my iPhone and iPad, Apple offers a 'Reader' feature. Click the AA to the left of the web address line, then select 'Show Reader'. The page comes up in a .pdf view format, which increases the size of the font. Click the AA one more time, continue to click the larger A to continue to increase the font size. If someone owns a different brand of mobile device with similar features, please let your fellow members now, and if steps are different, please include screen shots. Thank you!

Thank you everyone who has express their condolences for the loss of my parents this year. It's been a rough and difficult road since my mother's death and funerals. I'm slowly getting back in the saddle. I know I'll still have some ups and downs as I travel this new path without them. I've spent this month updating my Word file to include all the new stories uploaded into the Library and updating the Stories by Author, Stories by Titles, Episode Inspired, Fanfiction Series, and Holiday pages. Let me know if I missed including a story on a specific page.

Scroll down and click Signature Type in text with attributes (bold, italic, centered, etc), then highlight the text. Next click the chain link in the Source line above the text box.
